[Qgis-developer] How to log qgis server messages?

Hi Stefan

Logging into qgis_wms_server.log is not supported anymore. A newer 
mechanism is to define the environment variable QGIS_LOG_FILE. But it 
does not work for me as supposed (logging stops after entering the fcgi 
loop).
Anyway, I think it needs a new log mechanism. Because 
qgis_wms_server.log/QGIS_LOG_FILE only worked if compiled with debug 
information. It is however also a frequent need to log fatal errors 
(e.g. invalid layer) in release mode to find out why a setup is not 
working as expected.
