+1
I have moderation rights, only used twice, because it is not clear what
responsibilities are (and to be honest others did already approve it).
I do get a mail when somebody asks for approval, but NOT when it is
approved (eg by one of the other moderators) -> feature request?
Besides this, it's often not very clear what a plugin is supposed to do,
or how to test. I do not have time enough to do a thorough scan of the
code for malicous stuff or find out if it is working as it suppossed to be.
What about the idea of forcing a plugin-creator to write a wiki-page
with the information what the plugin is supposed to to AND some test
directions (preferebly with some downloadable code).
This would make it for moderators much easier to do some small tests (eg
I'm not so much into rasters, I need real guidance when you want me to
test raster-analysis plugins...).
This way would also 'force' plugin devs to create some quality around it.
In my vision a plugin should not only be uploaded 'to the community'
just because you think you solved your problem, but also because you
want others to use it (and want to invest some time in guiding others to
use it).
