Thanks for bringing this up Paolo.
I would like to go to a QGIS hackfest, but the European venues are not
financially feasible for me (and probably not for others as well). The
hackfests seem to generate very positive momentum for the project, as
well as code.
I am definitely in favor of attending one here (in the US). If it
could coincide with another going on in another part of the world,
that would be very cool.
If one were to be in the US, obviously having it in a locale with an
international airport seems logical. How were accommodations for
FOSS4G in Denver (2011)?
How many are interested in a sister hackfest in the US, ideally one
video- or audio-linked to another in Europe (or elsewhere)?
