[Qgis-developer] qgis-web-client initial extent

Hi all.
I may be missing something, but I do not understand the meaning of the advertised
extent in OWS tab of Project properties, and its relation to qgis-web-client: I
assumed the start (or max?) extent for the web app would be taken from this, but from
my tests it seems that the extent is the bounding box of all the layers of the project.
Is there some explanation on how it works?
