[Qgis-developer] Fw: foss4g metadata/csw bof

I certainly hope to be  there.

I (or my employer) have contracted Sourcepole to develop a CSW harvester of WxS services for QGIS, and have also funded improvements to Geonetwork to capture better metadata when harvesting from WxS url's. We desire a better integration of self documenting WxS services being harvested into CSW catalogues which provide a resource describing available layers/data which is directly accessible from QGIS. Sort of in line with the QGIS web client approach, but not quite :-)

I'll be discussing some of this in my presentation on NIWA's use of FOSS.
