for this release, we invested a large proportion of our funds (derived from
sponsorship and donations) to hire core developers and doing bugfix.
This has proven very successful, but is currently unsustainable for the future.
Further sponsoring is therefore welcome, and will greatly improve the quality of
future releases.
In shorth: users, if you want a release without blockers, your best option is to
donate or sponsor QGIS.
I think we should mention this clearly in the release notes for 2.2.
