[Qgis-developer] QgsVectorFileWriter.writeAsVectorFormat() created geoJSON Points in 2.4, now Multipoints in 2.6

Hello

In 2.4, when writing geoJSON, QgsVectorFileWriter.writeAsVectorFormat() created Point features. In 2.6, this seems to have changed to Multipoint. Is this intentional? If so, why?
