[Qgis-developer] Is it possible to: Print canvas without Composer and draw polygon in Composer?

Hi Richard and Alexandre,
Thanks –
The scratch layer is wonderful – but deleted when I close the project (that’s –OK) so I can´t save drawings in the printcomposer.
And Save as Image – forgot that – I like the Clipping tool from windows – and woul prefer a ‘Copy to Clipboard’
Regards

Use my favourite plugin from Boris:

http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/NewMemoryLayer/

activating this one, gives you a 'create new memory layer' in your Layer
menu, where you can then choose point/line/polygon and it will appear as
a layer into your map, and edit with the normal tools.
You can style it as every other layer.

(Also one of my favorite plugins)

Just to remind that that since 2.8, this feature is now core and was called "add new scratch layer", and it's available in the Create Shapefile/Spatialite Button.

There is another plugin to save the memory layer into the project file.

This one is not a core feature, but works fine with scratch Layers
