[Qgis-developer] Loading features in bunch

Hi all,
I kind of remember an option to increase the number of features loaded
before doing a redraw, that in some situations increased the general
speed for layers with lots of features. Now in master I cannot see it
back (just the interval for refresh): was I dreaming, or was it removed
sometimes? In case, could someone remind me why?
