[QGIS-Developer] Expression based output in Processing

Hi all,
(sorry I'm flooding the list) I wonder what is the use case for
expression based output in Processing. It makes sense to me for models
and for batches (where however is apparently not present), but I do not
understand its use case for single algs.
Anyone has details?
