[QGIS-Developer] QGIS 3 Ellipsoid Parameters

How do I get access to the ellipsoid parameters, in Python, found in the
Project Properties under Measurements->Ellipsoid? -- ie. the ellipsoid
name, semi-major, and semi-minor axis.

Does QGIS 3 still use Vincinty to calculate geodesic distances and position
or does it use something else?
