[QGIS-Developer] QGIS supports WCS version 2.0.1 + WCPS natively?

Hello QGIS developers,

I'm working for Rasdaman company (www.rasdaman.com - Opensource Raster
database (www.rasdaman.org) - created by Prof. Dr. Peter Baumann).
Rasdaman is conformable with OGC Web Coverage Service (WCS) version
2.0.1 and contributed to create multiple extensions
(http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wcs) and also main contributor
of OGC Web Coverage Processing Service (WCPS -
http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wcps). Rasdaman also contributed
to QGIS with this WCPS plugin
(https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/QgsWcpsClient1/ [1]) written in Python.

However, in QGIS latest version 2.8, QGIS native WCS tool only supports
WCS version 1.0.0, 1.1.0, therefore it cannot work with Rasdaman for
requesting WCS 2.0.1 version. What we'd like to do and ask is:

+ We could use the Python opensource OWSLib
(https://github.com/earthserver-eu/OWSLib/tree/olcl-wcs-200 and
https://github.com/earthserver-eu/OGC_WCS_tutorial) which supports WCS
version 2.0.1 and WCPS to extend the existing WCPS QGIS plugin from
Rasdaman [1].

+ Is that possible to bring this plugin to be added natively in QGIS for
WCS feature (besides version 1.0.0, 1.1.0) in next QGIS version? And is
this plugin needed to be developed as C++ to be able to work with QGIS
core functionality?

Thanks,
