Yes, we missed the window.  The "nightly" was ongoing when the build was still
busy with a version predating the fix.  And in the next iteration the "final"
sip problem was interoduced, which broke builds on xenial and stretch (ie. with
sip <4.19).

That's fixed now too and this iteration should now work again - actually 
i386 for xenial-ubuntugis is "already" finished and it's currently building
amd64.

No, there was someone else on qgis-user with the same problem (but I responded
to soon there - as I hadn't noticed the "final" issue yet).
