[QGIS-Developer] LineString vs MultiLineString - QGIS2 vs QGIS 3

Hi Matteo,

In shapefiles, there is no LineString or Polygon, all line layers are
MultiLineString and polygon layers MultiPolygon.

Only points come in multi and non-multi versions.
