So true. I have tried various approaches in order to do it right (not
missing anything and not accidentally making other mistakes) and doing it
relatively quick, but I haven't found a way that's tolerable. I have gotten
to a point where I go a long way to avoid editing forms :)
I have built a few scripts that can help me manipulate some things, and I
use these before committing/distributing qgz files. But I often make some
kind of error. I have tried to catch these errors by using text diff on the
xml, but the output of diffing is totally overwhelming and my brain
cant handle it :) Tools like xmldiff might provide a comparison that is
easier to read, but in most cases it takes hours or days to complete
because the XML file is so large.
The file size itself has never bothered me, but I would really appreciate
every initiative that could make the project files easier to
read/understand/compare/verify :)
Sincerely, Thomas
