I'd like to move forward with this - can I get some +1/-1 votes from core
contributors on the proposal?

(As a reminder, the current policy is that we need 2 +1 votes from
qualifying members to get a qep accepted, or a -1 vote to block it. The
initial two week timeout for discussion has passed on the proposal, so as
soon as we get the two required votes it will become instantly "accepted".)
