Ok, I've replaced "legacy" with "mature". 👍

That's basically what the freedesktop "PickColor" portal is. It's just very
limited compared with the current QGIS functionality.

I definitely won't be breaking any X11 functionality. I plan on sticking
with X11 myself for as long as possible (i.e. plasma 7), or until Wayland
is at feature parity with it.
