Yes, sorry. I've just updated the PR (
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/pull/64752) which should address the profile
corruption. Hopefully that's all good to go now, but I think we should
give it at least a couple of days testing in master before proceeding with
release.
I've no personal opinion regarding 3.40/3.44 releases.
