I thought so. Then IMHO anything that's a bugfix should be getting
backported. (Up-to-date, following guidance) users are on 3.44.

Indeed. I guess we should defer that until 4.2.0 is out and we are
about to tag 4.2.1, as I understand it. A lot can happen between now
and then.
