[Qgis-psc] PSC Meeting

Hi,

a) I read the logs and also vote a +1 to change the name to QGIS.

b) I also agree that it would be a good idea to extend the PSC roles. What I
see from the logs the new roles concentrate on technical aspects, such as
infrastructure and Bug/QA/Testing and design.

That is fine, but what is also important is that the content side could need
more attention, too. I mean that in general the website and wiki is not
maintained with current information very well for a long time and the
documentation is behind as well. At the moment we have many people who
work on the software but only a few working on the surrounding. And asking
for help recently did only get little response.

I mean this probably will not become better, if we add more people to the
PSC, but maybe it would in general be a good idea to strengthen that non
technical part of the project and have a better and more professional
external representation. I could e.g. imagine to split my role into 2 or 3
parts - like:

- Documentation (manual update and translation)
- Community (website, wiki, mailing lists, )
- External communication (organize meetings, case studies, ...)

and only concentrating on the content and not the technical part.

Regards
Otto
