[Qgis-psc] qgis.info should be banned!

Hi,
I agree with Tim in this respect. It would be a waste of financial
resources if we'd register all potential domains that may cause trouble.
It would we a never-ending thing. Every year, new top level domains are
added - seems to be good business for DNS registrars. Plus it will add
additional confusion for the users. Let's settle on "qgis.org" as the
one and only resource and let's try to complain at DNS registrars if
names with QGIS are abused. I know, it might also be annoying and a lot
of work, but it's the best we can do.

Personally I don't think it is worth doing that - you will be playing
whack-a-mole trying to keep up with all the domains that come out and
variants - and it is going to add up a lot of money in domain
registration fees. I think it is a better strategy to do what you are
doing now:
* put guidelines about the trademark use
* complain to the registrar (if that proves effective) if someone breaks
it
I am pretty sure there is a Microsoft.something domain with Japanese
girls on it too...
PS Luigi, next time please add NSFW or "potentially unsafe" if you point
to a dodgy link :-P

Tim
