[qgis-qwc2] Map parameter not working in import layer

Hi folks,

Using a browser I can display a local qgs file, e.g. with this url:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/qgis_mapserv.fcgi?MAP=/home/qgis/exercise_data/qgis-server-tutorial-data/world3.qgs&LAYERS=countries,places&SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetMap&CRS=EPSG:4326&WIDTH=400&HEIGHT=200

I wasn't able to do something similar using the import layer functionality of QWC2. All it does is opening a new blank page, which is kind of weird?

Am I missing something here?

Is there a way to dynamically display a local qgs file. Would be rather cool tho.
