That's a good one Harrissou, I will try it out.

Hi Alexandre,
I just came across this link
https://docs.transifex.com/translation-memory/enabling-autofill#identifying-strings-translated-by-tm
and wonder if it could help you find the strings that were erroneously
translated (from pt_BR) in Transifex.
Maybe Stefano also would be interested?

Cheers,
Harrissou

Hi Delaz,

That's exactly the option I was talking about. For our case PT_pt it makes
sense to have it deactivated, hence my suggestion.

Thanks for deactivating it. It will have impact next time the resources
get updated.

Regarding Stefano problem, I read in documentation that it's possible to
only save in translation memory the reviewed resources. It could solve the
italian team problem, as they try to review all strings, but for others it
would mean loosing lot's of translated strings every time the resources get
updated.

One thing I wonder, do we really need to update all strings when a new
QGIS version is released? Could we somehow only update the resources that
where changed since last release? That would preserve the resources
translations and reviews, I think.

Oh wait, nevermind, I forgot that qgis desktop has one single resource...

The only way I can imagine is to make sure to review 100% of the
translation and, as soon as the new resources arrive, consider all the
(automatically) translated strings reviewed.

Hi,

It seems there's a new feature, under automatic translation fill up
[0](enabled for the QGIS Desktop project), that uses available regional
locale translation as fallback. It was also enabled (maybe ON by default).
I now deactivate it but not sure it has any impact on strings already
translated.

Harrissou

It's almost the same thing I reported some weeks ago.
It's difficult to control the automatic translation by "memory
translation".

Hi,

In the European portuguese translation, we are having some issues with
untranslated strings that get translated automatically using Brazilian
Portuguese. This introduces lots of "strange" translations from our point
of view. The main problem is that we don't have a good way t identify those
translations other than finding them in the GUI (normally in the middle of
a training session :-P).

This is caused by the pre-translation mechanism that tries to fill the
translations when the resources are updated.

Could we deactivate it? The other locale translations will show in
suggestions but not be applied automatically.

Best regards,

Alexandre Neto
