 Please, can you explain to me what a prj string with both +datum=WGS84 and
 +towgs84 means? I thought both are datum definitions? See for instance the
 output of 'cs2cs -ld', where each valid datum is supplied together with
 the +towgs84 parameters.

 Anyway, proj/GDAL seems not to like both of them and uses the former
 instead.

 Remove the +damtum=WGS84 from proj B, and test. Either +datum or +towgs84,
 but not both.
