Would you like to present something at the next #QGIS<https://plus.google.com/u/0/s/%23QGIS> User Group meeting in Scotland? It's at the Informatics Forum, University of Edinburgh on 3rd November 2016. We're looking for lightning talks (5-7min) and longer talks (20-25min) on QGIS & #FOSS4G<https://plus.google.com/u/0/s/%23FOSS4G>.

Current talks:

Art Lembo (Assoc. Prof in GIS, Geography and Geosciences at Salisbury University, MD, USA) will be talking about terrain analysis with massively parallel processing techniques: a QGIS plugin with pyCUDA and NVIDIA graphics cards. Apparently known as "embarrassingly parallel solutions" because they are so fast.

Phil Taylor will be asking how deep is your loch.

EDINA on packaging and deploying QGIS across the University

Angus Council on managing street gazetteer and associated data at the new standards using QGIS and PostGIS

<your name here> will be talking about <your topic here>.

Shall we run a workshop session this time? What would you like? What have you got to offer?

Ordnance Survey and thinkWhere have offered to support the event again but from initial excitement it looks like we might have 100 folk wanting to come along. We'll need another sponsor or may have to forego the usual scrumptious morning snacks, lunch and afternoon coffee. Any offers?

Thanks

Ross
