No, that call does not work.  Not sure that the problem is with the  
gpsbabel call.

I keep receiving the:

THE LAYER IS NOT A VALID LAYER AND CAN NOT
BE ADDED TO THE MAP
-
Very curious indeed.
Anyone else able to use the GPS PLUGIN on Mac OSX?
or anyone with related issues?
