You probably installed them in your home directory (~/.qgis).

The only python plugins installed with qgis are plugin installer and
mapserver export - and those should be updated to match the current API.

All others are doomed to fail as they can't possibly keep up until the
API settles - which will happen when we finally release 1.0.

If you are lucky you can get an updated copy using said plugin
installer.
