Hi Dirk,

At the moment I'am using the WGS 84 coordinate system, but all rescue units in Germany are using the MGRS or UTMREF coordinate system. I haven`t found a way to create an own projection in QGIS in MGRS or UTMREF because I`m a absolutly beginner in QGIS.
1) If the projections you mentioned above are standard CRSs, chances are
they are in the QGIS database, and you should be able to located them in
'File' > 'Project properties' > 'Coordinate Reference System (CRS)'. If
they are indeed there, great, the skip the next step...
2) If your CRS is not in the QGIS database, then you can create a custom
CRS by going to 'Edit' > 'Custom Projection'. Here you will have to
specify a valid proj.4 string, and you can test it to make sure all the
parameters are correct...
3) Now it's as simple as right clicking on the layer in the layer list,
and selecting 'Save as shapefile'. Once you've specified the output file
name, a dialog will pop up with the list of available CRSs, choose the
one you want to project your data to, and voila! If you had to create a
custom CRS, this will be located in the 'User defined coordinate system'
section.
Hope this helps,
Carson
