You don't need to know any python to use the python plugins
in QGIS: from an user point of view, they are just as the other
tools you have. Python plugins are a very important feature
of QGIS because it is an excellent way to facilitate the contribution
of additional tools.
You are missing a lot of QGIS if you are not using the python
plugins, many people are contributing excellent tools.

You don't have to reinstall. Just go to the advanced install
and select what is listed in my directions but was not
automatically selected in your former installation (the installer
knows what is already installed, you just have to leave "keep" for 
those). Only the additional features will be installed.
Then follow directions to get things properly set up
in QGIS. Let me know of any problems.
