[Qgis-user] render GPS tracks as points instead of lines

As far as I know there isn't a way to do this. Searching and replacing the trkpnt for wpnt (from memory check correct tag names) and getting rid of the segment start and end elements of the segments should do it.
Alteranively use ftools to extract the vertices.

Possible? I downloaded traces from OSM as a reference points for
rectification. Some traces have no timestamp so the tracks were a
jumble of lines in QGIS.
I want it displayed simply as points. Is there a way to do it other
than converting the trackpoints to waypoints?
