[Qgis-user] bug?

Never sure where to send in bugs.
Getting message "Export to vector file failed.  Error: creation of data source failed (OGR error:)" when trying to save as .csv from a shapefile layer.

Exporting to csv has worked before but just suddenly stopped working half way through a session when it did work with other layers earlier in the session.  Have tried restarting qgis and recreating the shapefile (the file is produced from a set of points getting the underlying raster data for their positions using the point sampling tool) from scratch or reloading it but still get error although the error message is sometimes a little different.

Am using qgis 1.8.0 (a21e1db) on windowsXP.
