[Qgis-user] Raster tools conversion losing georeference

Hi,

When I use the Raster tools > Translate (Convert format) to convert a
georeferenced SRTM elevation raster (in .hgt format) to a tif format, the
georefrenceing is lost (ie the output image has only raster coordinates,
not lat-longs. Even when I specifically enable Target SRS = EPSG:4326.

Can anybody else confirm this, is it a bug, is there a workaround...? If
needed I can provide the .hgt, but it is a 2,9 Mb file...

Using QGIS 1.6.0 on Mac OSX 10.6.

Yours,
