Hi Christof,
Vector export from the print composer to SVG or PDF should work. I
recommend to use the new symbology engine. That way point symbols are
kept as vectors in a PDF or SVG output. There are some problems that
should be resolved in future versions, but in general it works.
Also make sure you have a recent version (1.7).
