[Qgis-user] Joining tables and spatial data

I would like to join an attribute table (.csv) to some spatial data
(shapefile). I have added both the shapefile and the CSV into QGIS.

 

Now I can join them using the Join tab on the csv file layer properties
tab, but this doesn't give me any spatial information from the
shapefile. What I would like to be able to do is see the polygons that
have been joined from the shapefile. Is this possible? 

 

I have also joined the csv to the shapefile but this does not give me
multiple records. The CSV has multiple records and when I join in this
way then I only get one record back from the shapefile. Is it possible
to do one to many using the join tab?

 

Using qgis-dev from OSGeo4W.
