[Qgis-user] FW: Problem with Ubuntu 12

The issue is really not with Unity but with the fact that choices were
removed when Canonical chose to implement Unity. True there is (or was)
the choice of a semblance of the option of a Gnome desktop but it is a
bandaid and functions poorly in my experience.

I suffered Unity during a six week effort "give Unity a chance" and to
avoid being accused of being unwilling to learn something new by Unity
supporters - I despise Unity now more than ever and, frankly, also no
longer have much regard for Ubuntu, which I had relied upon as my main
OS since around 5.10.

It may be that Unity should not be ignored in QGIS development but
neither should scarce resources be assigned to a desktop that,
apparently, functions far from the norm.
