[Qgis-user] Forestry Week? (was Case sensitive) on Android

Hi all,
I'm sorry for the late involvement in the discussion but I wasn't
actively following the user mailing list.

QGIS for android now supports all data and functions (beside python)
that QGIS desktop supports (only limitation, no ssl connections to
postgis) and is mainly targeted to 10' tablets (asus transformer,
samsung galaxy 10, acer iconia and so on). Of great interest for
forestry could be the coming Panasonic Toughpad.
QGIS works on well on devices like between 6' and 10 with some minor
problems that should get fixed soon.
on even smaller devices, QGIS can be run by setting a small font size
(4) which makes it run with full gui on screens as small as 3.2" (tested
on a friends samsung and on my galaxy 9000); on those devices the
interface is _small_ but usable, foremost with a pen.

the only problem at the moment with very small screens is that the
default font size is too big and you cant get to the font size dialog. a
workaround and a video showing the current situation are available now
at my blog [1]

As Andreas already told you, I'm always looking for feature-bound
sponsoring or donations to keep developing the android port. Especially,
at the moment I'm starting looking into Python support.

Hope this can help and if you have any questions don't hesitate
contacting me

ciao
Marco
