[Qgis-user] Testing OSGeo4W 64bit

Hi Andreas,

Thanks, I had the right installer, but it looks like I'd changed where to put the shortcuts but not where to put programme so the installer was being correct. (ie, the 64-bit version is the same as the 32-bit I already had installed, so nothing to do).

I've got something installed now, and some initial thoughts would be:
(and on the grand scheme of things these aren't really important for testing)
- Wow, cool! Thanks Jürgen.
- I'd really like some way of telling if I have a 32 or 64-bit version running.
- I'd really like some way of telling the two installers apart. (Will I break things if I locally rename the 64-bit one?)
- The shortcuts appear to be turning up in the "normal" OSGeo4W shortcut folder rather than the OSG4W64 one I asked the installer to use. The installer did make the folder, just doesn't seem to be using it.

It's late for me now, so I'm looking forward to opening up some big rasters tomorrow :)

-ramon.
