[Qgis-user] Broken Projekt-File

I have recently edited and saved a QGIS-Project file with "Dufour"  that I had originally created with 1.8.x.
Today I wanted to continue work on the project but the file seems broken. When I open the project at first sight the layers seem to load correctly but suddenly all layers disappear and all map plots are gone. No error message. I tried to reopen with an older version 1.8.x but same thing happens.

Any ideas? Similar observations? Solutions?
