[Qgis-user] Scripting QGIS 2.x install

Hi List,
I'm going to have our desktop dev team create a QGIS scripted install
corporately (Windows 7). Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for this?

Noting that many of the settings are in the registry, I'll have some of
them saved to a registry file - that'll hopefully work quite well. It's
more the general install I'm wondering about.
Should we use the recent weekly or something from OSGeo4W? Unfortunately
2.0 is too buggy to warrant use and as best I can tell the next formal
release is still months away at the earliest.
Also, would it be easy to script an upgrade from a previous version too?

Thanks,
Jonathan
