Subject: [Qgis-user] Text annotations

Sorry to be so dim. A Newbie question. I've created a lot of layered
raster and vector maps and have placed text annotations on them which are
all correctly georeferenced to the project, and scale correctly. However I
want to create JPEGs or view, some of the maps without the text annotations.
I can't see any way of temporarily removing the annotations. Should I have
created a separate layer for them? If so, How?
