Ajay, alway deinstall old stuff (from your old repositories) before
adding the new repositories found here:

http://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#ubuntu

if that still fails, please  report back with:
- what you did exactly
- the errors/problems you get. 'the errors' is not helpfull :-)

so we can maybe make the install instructions better.
