[Qgis-user] Saving layers

Jonathan -

  * Open the shape file as a layer in QGIS and style this layer.
  * When you haved styled the layer, use the "Layer Properties" ->
    "Style" -> "Save Style" button on the layer
  * Choose "QGIS Layer Style File" and create a qml style file.
  * Save the style file to the same directory as your shape file is
    placed in - and with the same name prefix  (Meaning: If the shape
    file is called c:\mydir\myshape.shp the qml file must be named
    c:\mydir\myshape.qml)

 From now on, every time you open the shape file as a layer in QGIS , it 
will be styled according to the style parameters in the qml file.
