[Qgis-user] How to specify fields to export from QGIS?

Have you run a Query on the shapefile layer, I do something similar to what
you are trying to do but I first right click on the layer and choose Query.
Then create a query to only show the fields I want.

Then I right click on the layer and Save as, I only get the data that
resulted from the query.
