[Qgis-user] complete a polygon

Not sure if I misunderstood the question...
In case my hint to "Avoid intersection" was a bit short and therefor unclear please have a look here:
http://www.qgis.org/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/editing_geometry_attributes.html#avoid-intersections-of-new-polygons
"Avoid intersection"is targeted at digitizing adjacent polygons, which is what I understood was the aim...
Cheers
Stefan

Tata,
You are referring to a tool that is comparable to autocomplete in the ESRI world. The closest I have gotten is the autotrace plugin (and it's not comparable - but it's closer to what you are looking for - http://www.lutraconsulting.co.uk/resources/autotrace). As for a process - the best (as far as I know and I hope I am wrong) is to digitize your work area as polylines - at the end convert them to polygons (vector -> geometry tools -> lines to polygons). It would save some clicking but would add a step (or maybe two).
Anyway - Good luck!
Randy

Avoid Intersection is under "Settings" --> "Snapping options".
If that is checked for your layer you can simply continue digitizing with the "create polygon" tool...

Dear Saber, thank you!
But this tools allows me to complete a polygon "inside" another.
I'm searching for a tool that alow me to complete a polygon outside another, that has common sides
If I have polygon 1 and 2, andI wan to to digitize polygon 3, I'm searching a tool that allow me to digitize pol 3 without redraw the common sides with 1 and 2 (in thi case ise very simple redraw,, but with complex and natural polygons it is an heavy WORK!!)
Thank you.

If I have understood your question correctly, you can use AutoTrace plugin.

Hi,
I have to add a new polygon to other existing; they have obviously
common sides; how can I draw only sides not common?
Thank you
