[Qgis-user] Layers panel interactions

Hi QGIS-Users,
I have a mapset of some 300 shapefiles.
Is it possible to maker certain changes in the layer panel to a set of 
these maps instead of having to right-click them one by one?

eg: Show featurecount, sort by name, toggle editing for a (selected) set 
of maps

I've tried putting them in groups, and I've tried selecting groups of them.

Then of course the next question follows: Setting snapping options for 
groups of maps, rather than one by one.
