[Qgis-user] can't open file.qgs

My computer crashed and now I cannot open a file anymore I was working with
for the last 6 months 

The file.qgs has 0 bytes, but there is a file.qgs~ with 262Kb.  J

Can I get the file back and how, or do I need to start fresh?  L

Thanks for any help. I switched back from a weekly to Valmiera because I
need a stabile environment. Now is that ironic or what?   J
