[Qgis-user] Google Satellite and Measure line tool wrong results

Hi, 
I guess you are using the open layer plugin.  If so, Google layer go all funny on you if you zoom too much.  Vectorize a line in a shp file and see if the background moves.  If most likely will. If so, the problem is not with the measuring tool but with the Google layer.
