[Qgis-user] How to switch in Edit-Modus?

Hello,

I am new with QGIS and have some trouble with edit my geojson layers.
I open the Layer-File in geojson format and see my 5 features correct in 
the layer-window.
They are in read-only-Modus and i can't enable the Edit-Modus.

The Edit-Icon (Pencil) is disabled and there is no Context with right 
Mouse in the window with the Layer-File-Name.
Also in the Menu I can't find a Link to switch.

My goal is to merge the five Features in one Polygon and i can see the 
Icon to do this, but it is also disabled.

I use QGIS 2.8.2. and Windows 7.
Can you please help me?
