[Qgis-user] mrsid qgis 2.8 and ubuntu 14.04

I've not used it as a gdal plugin and in the past have simply converted
my data into a more standard format:

Have you followed the steps you've linked to? Did either the
gdal-build-mrsid or gdal-mrsid-build work?
