Richard, go to angle in the composer, item properties, click the drop down at field name angle,n choose your preferred angle. Also make sure you lock the map layer so the text or any changes you make in the composer, doesn't affect the map layer n vice versa

Subject: [Qgis-user] Lables in Composer
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to auto Rotate text in Composer?
I have a Map, which needs to be rotated to Print out on A4, having North
at an angle, which means all my horizontal text is skewed in composer.
I have at present added additional fields to allow for Label
Relocation and rotation, which gets me over the issue in the meantime,
It does of course skew the text in the canvas.
It would be nice if there was a way in Composer to select these field
values, this would leave the Text in the Canvas as is, and rotate it in
the composer.
If this is not available yet, maybe it could be added in a future update.
Regards,
Richard McDonnell
